Ten days paid leave won’t solve poverty trap for women leaving violence

The legislation to provide 10 days of paid leave to victims of domestic violence is a welcome first step towards righting the wrong for women with children who are victims of violence. Sadly, not enough mothers will be working to take advantage of these paid leave entitlements, and most of them rely on our inadequate income support system.
