With 1 in 6 Australian children living in poverty, too many families are being forced to decide between buying food or paying bills, and we are seeing children being sent to school with empty lunchboxes.

Uniting and Vinnies – co-chairs of Anti-Poverty Week in Tasmania are hosting this opportunity for community connection – to break down barriers and increase understanding.

Local Vinnies team members will organise a barbecue in the park, welcoming everyone to share a basic meal and warm conversation.
