ACT Anti-Poverty Week Forum

ACT Anti-Poverty Week (APW) 2022 is being held from the 16th to the 22nd of October 2022. This year marks the twenty-year anniversary of Anti-Poverty Week, and the focus is on understanding and acting on poverty and disadvantage in the ACT, with a call to action of halving child poverty by 2030.
This year as part of ACT’s Anti-Poverty Week, ACTCOSS and CARE Financial (Co-Chairs of ACT APW) are hosting a panel and forum discussing issues of poverty and disadvantage.
The panel will be moderated by ACT Council of Social Service’s Head of Policy Dr Gemma Killen and will include expert panelists;
Member for Canberra, Minister Alicia Payne,
ANUSA Student Assistance Advisor, Mr Hassan Riaz,
Director of ANU Children’s Policy Centre, and Poverty & Inequality Research Centre, Professor Sharon Bessell,
UnionsACT Campaign Organiser, Kasey Tompkins
A light lunch will be provided.
