The Power of Education: Breakfast Panel Discussion

You are invited to join internationally-renowned high school mathematics teacher and Internet sensation Eddie Woo in Hobart on Thursday, October 17.

Free tickets are now available for both the breakfast and the panel discussion to follow at the Stanley Burbury Theater Sandy Bay Campus of the University of Tasmania, from 7:15 am – 9:30am.

Eddie Woo, Peter Underwood Centre Director, Professor Natalie Brown, and The Smith Family national manager, research and evaluation, Dr Gillian Considine, will be offering their insights on The Power of Education to change the experiences and outcomes of children and young people, particularly those living in poverty. More than 3 million Australian children and young people live in poverty.

The panel discussion is a special Anti-Poverty Week event, and will be facilitated by Aurora Energy Chief Executive Officer, Rebecca Kardos.

Eddie Woo came to prominence as a result of his YouTube channel, which has more than 600,000 subscribers and more than 30 million views worldwide. His long list of acknowledgements includes receiving Australia’s Local Hero Award at the 2018 Australian of the Year Awards.
