‘Can’t afford to live’ Research Report Launch – Anti-Poverty Week 2022

October 19, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Please join us during Anti-Poverty Week 2022 as we share the findings of our latest research ‘Can’t afford to live: the impact of the rising of cost of living on Victorians and Tasmanians on low incomes.’

The rising costs of housing, fuel, energy and groceries, has left many Australians needing to make impossible choices day after day, just to survive. This research was undertaken by Uniting in partnership with the Centre for Social Impact, Swinburne University of Technology in order to better understand this impact of cost of living rises on consumers of community services.

Hosted by Anti-Poverty Week Victorian Co-chairs, the Hon. Bronwyn Pike AM (CEO Uniting Vic.Tas) and Mr David Tennant (CEO FamilyCare), please join us either in person or online as we reflect on poverty in Australia in 2022, and the actions we must take collectively to end it.

We will also be joined by Victorian Senator Janet Rice, Greens spokesperson on Social Security and Chair of the Community Affairs References Committee, Prof. Erin Wilson, Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University of Technology, and Emma King, CEO Victorian Council of Social Services.
