National Older Women’s Network (NOWN) 25th National Conference, hosted by OWN NSW to be held at the Sydney Masonic Conference and Function Centre (SMC) on Thursday 17th and Friday 18th  October 2019.

The conference will bring our members from Queensland, Western Australia and New South Wales to discuss issues of importance under the theme “A Place to Call Home”. Our theme was chosen to reflect the needs of older women for secure housing for shelter, a safe environment free from violence, and economic empowerment for independence and sustaining a healthy life.

Jane Caro is our confirmed keynote speaker. Jane is a social commentator, writer and lecturer based in Australia. We are indeed very lucky to receive the support of Susan Ryan AO and Quentin Bryce AD CVO in discussion on Day Two.

Confirmed panellists on Day One include Eva Cox AO, Wendy Bacon, Moo Baulch, Jenna Price, Amani Haydar, Katherine McKernan, Sharron McKinnon, Nareen Young, Debbie Georgopoulos, and Kate Walsh. NOWN Ambassador, Shirley Randell will be presenting the closing address.

Speakers for Day Two include Meredith Burgmann, Kim Boettcher and Rita Martin.

This is a not to be missed event.

The conference will be opened up to the public (registrations ). A Ministerial Reception for members only will be held at Parliament House on Thursday 17th October.
