NCOSS Pink Hi-Vis for Women in Poverty

October 17 - October 23

This year for National Anti-Poverty Week (APW) 17-23 October, NCOSS together with its partners  the Country Women’s Association, PCYC, Financial Councillors Association, Local Government NSW, Mission Australia, Older Women’s Network, Castle Disability Services and St Vincent De Paul, will be highlighting the precarious housing situation for many women in NSW and urging the NSW Government to boost investment in social housing construction and domestic violence and specialist homelessness services.

Please join us and get involved in our campaign – A Pink Hi-Vis Recovery – to support women in need, help local communities build back after COVID, and grow the broader NSW economy.

On the website you will find out how to access and use the Instagram and Facebook filters – with a few easy steps enabling you to don a ‘virtual’ pink hi-vis vest and be a part of the campaign. You can also download the backgrounds to use for Microsoft Teams and Zoom. We have also included social media tiles with all the key facts and messaging from the campaign to post through your social media accounts.

Show your support for the campaign by donning a neon pink vest in real life or by using our social media filters, posting it on social media and publicly expressing your support. We also encourage you to promote the campaign in local media.

The report that sets out the evidence supporting our campaign, Rebuilding for Women’s Economic Security – Investing in Social Housing in NSW will be launched tomorrow, and available here.

Activate your networks.

Call on your staff, volunteers, board members, supporters and broader networks to do the same. Show our politicians that this is an issue that we all care about.

Additionally, if you are planning some activities during the week please send an email through to and we’ll share it on our website and through social media.
