Our social security system is failing to support people living in poverty. At the same time, the Federal Government seeks to make it harder to access and increasingly nastier, tightly controlling the lives of those struggling to survive on its meagre entitlements.

We say this isn’t good enough!

It’s time to raise the rate of Newstart. It’s time we had a social security system that actually supported people out of poverty, rather than punished them.
