The Poverty Simulation was developed by the Community Action Group in Missouri USA. Now in use in the Faculty of Health and Medical sciences at the University of Adelaide, this comprehensive simulation requires students in health programs to consider a range of situations that affect people living in poverty.

This is the second year this event has been conducted in time with Anti-Poverty Week. Student participation has grown from 80 students in 2018, to well over 300 students in 2019. Encouraging graduates of health oriented disciplines to consider how people face the hardships of poverty and ill health is an important goal.
